So I was in need of a new computer and I started thinking about the best choice. As a designer and computer enthusiast, I picked up an iMac and since then my motivation to create beautiful things has taken off. I think it’s something about the visual aesthetics of the apple monitor that sparks creativity. I believe that anyone who has an Apple computer will be motivated to create something great.

Sole Brother
2 01 2009
So I just got my first skateboard today. Unfortunately it was rainy, so I’ll probably try out my new board tomorrow. I wanted to check out some new kicks at my friendly neighborhood skate shop, Sole Brother, but instead I found myself drawn into the decks on the wall. I was helped by the owner Chris and salesman, Rodney. The Norfolk, Va. store had a nice selection of decks, skateboard accessories, clothes and of course shoes – hence the name Sole Brother. I’ll definitely be back.

Mickey Factz
31 12 2008
I can’t lie, when I first heard Mickey Factz, I thought he was a little whack. But after a second listen, I’m convinced he is very far from that.
His last mix tape Heaven’s Fallout is great. He fuses alternative rock with with Hip Hop to elaborate on a new genre of rap that few are embarking on now. Rappers like Kanye West, Charles Hamilton, and Kid Cudi have tapped into this style of rap, but Factz brings his own swag along the Hip Hop journey.
Factz ryhmes over classic tracks like the gieco caveman commercial and other alternative from Jamiroquai. He even sings a little like most rapper are starting to do these days. Never the less, Factz is a force to be reconded with

INSA
30 12 2008B. Summers
An artist from the UK, residing in East London has been doing his thing for about 15 years under the name INSA – a four letter word he made up for him self back then. Although he doesn’t focus on graffiti too much, he feels it was an “important part of [his] life and a major influence on how [he sees] the world” and chose to keep the anonymity. If you are ever in London , you might catch a glimpse of a tear drop flame head sprayed on a wall or a train. He uses images of women’s high heel shoes to mostly symbolize in his most notable fetish pieces.
INSA has done work on almost everything. He has painted cars, vans, whole train cars, walls ( of course ), people, and he has even been invited to Sweden to sculpt the famous Ice Hotel. To add to his adventurous escapades, he plans to do some painting in Brazil in the new year.
After several years of painting heels on walls, INSA partnered up with fashion guru Ruth Shaw to make three leather heels with INSA inspired patterns. The shoes have been a big deal to bloggers, collectors and shoe connoisseurs.
Clearly INSA has become a graffiti culture mogul. In all his fame, he chose to remain anonymous, as the name INSA is really ‘just a creative evolution from
writing [his] name, but you can try your best to make out his blurred face on his blog, www.insaland.com/blog , or just catch him at any upcoming show.

Teacher suspended for indoctrination
9 10 2008
These not-so-enthused students in Kansas, dressed favoring a college fraternity probating for Obama, are raising eyebrows to questions like…”Is this indoctrination?” or “Is this getting them involved in politics young?” I don’t know. I think it is a little questionable that they are not performing this routine in front of the rest of the school…maybe they are practicing…or maybe it might not be allowed to endorse either party nominee…or maybe it was just a class project, who knows? One thing is for sure, the teacher who sponsored this display was suspended and the video does raise eyebrows, and on top of the McCain is trying to capitalize on Obama’s slip-up by association. Honestly, I think Obama has done nothing wrong but put a positive Black roll model and a legitimate candidate in a politcal race.
What do you think?
